We have some great classes coming up for you all! We hope you can make it! Here are some of the classes scheduled for January and February:   Molokini Bay This is a really fun quilt to make!  The 58" x 72" background is sewn together in strips - bargello style.  The fish are pieced using a log cabin method. The final result.... Beautiful!  $30 Confident Beginner ~ Fri Jan 31st 6-9pm   Cone Flowers/ Renegade Thread Play Just picked from the garden, these brightly colored coneflowers are a fun and easy way to try the Cutting-Garden technique.  In the first session we will learn a new fusing technique and build our quilt top.  In the second session we will learn "renegade thread play" to add highlights, shading and details to our beautiful quilt.  This is a fun and easy technique that even beginners can master easily. $35  Confident Beginner ~ Sat. Feb. 1st & 22nd from 10am to Noon Patchwork "You've Got Mail" This is a fun wall hanging with pockets to organize mail and other supplies. Using paper piecing techniques make as many envelopes as you need and design the layout of the finished wall hanging to fit your space. $35 Intermediate ~ Sat Feb 1st 1-5pm       Art Quilt Stimulate your imagination and creativity by learning how to paint on fabric.  No painting experience required.  You will learn basic fabric painting techniques as well as thread art to enhance your creation.  This class is so much fun! $30 Beginner ~ Sat February 8th, 10am-1pm   Bella Boxes Wow!  Basic but beautiful.  Create this 60" x 70" stunning quilt with your 60 degree ruler.  You will learn basic cutting and piecing techniques.  Lots of fun!  $30 Confident Beginner ~ Sat Feb 8th 2-5pm     Window on the East Bring the beautiful fall colors inside and really make a statement.  This wall hanging or lap quilt will Wow! your family and friends.  It's so easy that even beginners will get a gorgeous result. $35 Confident Beginner ~ Fri Feb 14th 6-10pm   Garden District Pillow Use up your scraps in this decorative flower pillow, from the book "Pillow Pop!" Using chain piecing and templates, no curved piecing involved! SoHo Sampler Block of the Month taught by Tess Pokorny This is a great series to learn many of the skills you need to have to make an amazing quilt. Each month we will work on two blocks and learn a different technique. The techniques are listed below along with the date for that topic. The fee is $15, but if you purchased the kit the fee is only $10 Kit includes The SoHo Sampler pattern, 3 ¼ yards of background fabric, and 17 fat quarters, all Batiks!! $94.99 This group meets on Tuesdays once month from either 3pm - 5pm or 6pm - 8pm.    Date Topic Feb.18th Handling your fabric: Prewashing and starching March 11th Making the perfect seam when joining triangle and squares April 15th Cutting your fabric for hand verses machine applique May 20th Sewing the applique by hand or machine June 17th Adding sashing and borders July 15th Making your quilt sandwich and quilting the quilt August 19th     Adding a prize winning binding   Scrap and Sew will be a vendor at OSQE (Official Sewing and Quilting Expo) from March 20th-22nd in Lakeland.
