Up Coming Classes 

Garden Quilt - Cone Flowers with Teri Morrow 

Just picked from the garden and ready for a vase, these brightly colored coneflowers are a fun and easy way to try the Cutting-Garden technique. In the first session we will learn a new fusing technique and build our quilt top. In the second session we will learn "renegade thread play" to add highlights, shading and details to our beautiful quilt.

Window on the East with Teri Morrow 

Bring the beautiful fall colors inside and really make a statement. This wall hanging or lap quilt will Wow! your family and friends. It's so easy that even beginners will get a gorgeous result.

Quilting with your Embroidery Machine by Katie Ringo

Maximize the potential of your embroidery machine by learning how to quilt your own quilts at home. You'll learn how to put designs inside blocks or quilt an all-over design on a quilt.

Are you a new quilter?
We have 2 new classes for you!

Beginner Machine Quilting with Cheryl Haynes

In this 6 week series, you will learn how to make a quilt with your machine from start to finish. Starting from picking out the fabric and using the right tools to machine piecing and machine quilting and then finally to the binding.

 Tuesdays  - October 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th, and Nov 5th. All classes are from 10am to Noon.

Quilt Making Basics with Sandi Snow 

This is a series of 4 classes to introduce quilt making to new sewers. During the first class, we'll select fabric and talk about basic concepts. The second class will entail cutting fabric and sewing the first block together. Sandwiching the quilt top, batting and backing and starting to quilt the project will be the topics for the third class. The fourth class will be attaching the binding around your finished quilt.

Saturdays ~ Oct 26th, Nov 9th, Nov 23rd and Dec 7th   

All classes are from 10am to Noon

 

Monday October 21st

10am-1pm or 2pm-5pm  

Learn how sergers work while making a project you can take home.

This event is especially for those who are looking for a great deal on a new serger.  Class fee is $10 and will be applied toward any of your purchases at the event.  Please RSVP by calling 813-749-0888

21st Century Scrap and Sew

21st Century Scrap and Sew!

Scrap and Sew has now formally and officially joined the 21st century social media universe: we have a Twitter account! :) That's right everybody, it happened! I am so happy that this is a part of my job here at the store - I absolutely love connecting with our customers and hearing what you guys have to say and social media is a great way to do it!



Just a couple of quick announcements! We do have 2 spots left for each of the classes below. Our lovely and talented Teri Morrow is the teacher and she is wonderful - if you have never been in a class with her before you will just fall madly in love with her! September fun at Scrap and Sew - Autumn is here!

Hey there everyone! WOW have we been busy! We are beginning out fall season here at Scrap and Sew, and we have some wonderful classes and events in store for you all! :)

Join the  "Hip Stitchers" at Scrap and Sew 

New Program:  We will be offering Saturday evening sewing classes for students once a month, 6:00 – 9:00pm.  Class size will be limited to 6 students, so please let us know if you’re interested.  Experienced sewers ages 9 to 18 are welcome.

Kids Cape

Use this McCall’s pattern to learn some basic sewing skills like reading and pattern and adding a button.  Make a cape to keep warm or use your imagination and become a super hero!  $35

Beginner Machine Quilting

Tonga Poinsettia Quilt

Fill your home with poinsettias this holiday.  We will learn how to use the 45 degree line on your ruler to make perfect chisels.  This easy, fun and festive quilt will certainly put you in a jolly mood.  $30
